Suicide Bombers - Martyrs

Emergency Managers need to deal with natural as well man-made emergencies. These man-made emergencies can further be divided into 2 sub groups: Accidental/non-voluntary emergencies and Non-accidental/criminal (to include terrorism - homegrown and/or international). In the international arena, Al Qaeda and or Al Qaeda sympathizers have taken the headlines since 9/11.
Several papers have been written on the matter and this section will provide you with a glimpse of widely available research (scientific and non-scientific). We recommend that you look at some of them and then visit our "Understanding the Quran" page and/or "Facts on the Quran".
Understanding the enemy and its mindset is the first step towards defeating it. This is a task now in the hands of anti and counter terrorism experts as well as emergency managers. We need to know what we are dealing with to better prepare and mitigate against it!
